Film studies

We are encouraged to find our situations and feelings expressed in great literature and films. They don’t trust our powers of expression, perhaps, to do it ourselves. I chose the scene in Gremlins when the baddified gremlin is minced up in the blender. I got 1 out of 10 and will have to retake Film Studies until I can choose something precocious and preferably French that is considered deep and meaningful.

They are very serious about Despondency here – flippancy is not encouraged. I have to smuggle these postcards out. I’m beginning to feel a bit of a pariah. Outcast in the Slough of Despond? How desperate is that? Where else is there to go? This place, at least, should be inclusive.
