Dead flowers

I filled my rooms with spring flowers, but now they are all dead, every one. I didn’t have the heart to throw them out and let the petals fall on my desk, my work, the floor. I thought they would dry, curl up into interesting shapes that I could enjoy looking at. But instead they are rotting and starting to stink.

Yet still I leave them. I am getting used to the smell of decay. Zed and Two Noughts. I will watch how corruption works its magic.
