A ropey ladder

A friend who’s been in and out of the Slough over the years told me I have to make my own ladder to get out, and what I get to start with is a gossamer thread. It will break and I will have to splice it many times. I’m no good at knitting, knotting or any of those stringy things, so I’m sure my ladder will be not just be rope but ropey. But I will make a start with these few strands I have here.
